Why Argile exists
An energy renovation quote is not decided on price. It is decided on rules that change every quarter: a revised subsidy sheet, an amended rate, a VAT band that shifts. The company installing the equipment is the one carrying the risk, and it is the one with the least time to read the legislation.
We built Argile so that this regulatory and technical material sits in the tool rather than in the head of one person in the company. The 3CL-DPE method, NF EN 12831, the standardised operation sheets: they are implemented as written, and updated when the texts are.
The blog follows the same rule as the product. What we publish is what we apply in the software, and we revise the affected articles when a rate moves rather than waiting for the next overhaul.

Our content is signed. Each author works on the subject they write about, and their page gathers everything they have published.
Pierre-Louis is CEO and co-founder of Argile. He holds a PhD in machine learning, written at Inria, and renovated a house with his own hands in 2017 before founding the company. On the blog he writes about what he implements in the software: the 3CL-DPE 2021 method, NF EN 12831 and building physics as a calculation engine has to handle them, assumption by assumption.

Louis is COO of Argile. After four years in strategy consulting and close to two as chief of staff in home adaptation and reuse, he joined Argile in March 2024. In daily contact with certified renovation companies, he follows French energy saving certificates, renovation subsidies and reduced VAT, and revises the affected articles whenever a rate changes. What he writes is what he then checks against real quotes.

How we work
The texts, not a summary of them
An article rests on the decree, the standardised operation sheet or the standard itself, quoted and dated. Never on another site's retelling of it.
The methods exactly as written
3CL-DPE 2021 and NF EN 12831 are implemented to the letter, assumptions included, and we say so when the two do not agree.
Revised when the law moves
A rate change triggers a revision of the articles concerned. On a regulatory subject, dated content nobody has revisited is worth nothing.
Checked against real files
What we write, we meet again on the quotes and studies the product generates. That is what tells us an article is right.
